Meet Our Staff:

Carolyn Russo, MS, CPDT, CDBC     OwnerCertified Pet Dog Trainer; Certified Dog Behavior Consultant

Carolyn holds a Master’s degree in Behavior from the University of Arkansas, is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer, has recently been certified with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and is an active member of the American Boarding Kennel Association and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. A dedicated fund raiser for animal rights organizations, she has a passion for dogs and it shows. It has been a long time dream of hers to open a ‘State of the Art’ dog facility where she could provide a home-like environment unlike traditional kennel facilities. She has been working with dogs for the past 10 years in many capacities including behavioral & training work, therapy dogs, canine T-Touch massage and holistic health care. Her current focus is in the study of pack dynamics and socialization.  She also has years of corporate finance and software experience for large companies such as Ernst & Young, MTV Networks, PepsiCo among others.

She is proud of what Waggin’ Tails has done for the community including adopting the Plano Animal Shelter, raising thousands of dollars and donating both money and services to Operation Kindness, DFW Lab Rescue, Dallas Bichon Frisse Club, Dallas Boston Terrier Society, Plano Books n Barks, SPCA, and many businesses too numerous too mention. Waggin’ Tails was also named Plano Small Business Success Story by the SBA and voted Best of “D” Magazine!

Jerry Patillo, CPDT Daycare Behavior Supervisor; Certified Pet Dog Trainer

Jerry joined us earlier this year as an obedience trainer and did so well, we have awarded him the role of Daycare Supervisor. the ground running with our board and train clients. He fit right in with his love for the dogs accompanied with his passion for positive behavior modification. Jerry has professional experience training all levels of obedience including clicker training. He spent the last three years honing his skills with Pet Smart and has aspirations of rehabilitating dogs with significant aggression issues. Jerry also is a volunteer for Animal Guardians of America and has personally trained his own dog in agility and has earned ribbons in local competitions. We are pleased to welcome him and congratulate him on recently earning his professional certification with the independent Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. A designation only several individuals have earned in the Dallas, Fort Worth area!

Debbie New PT Receptionist

Debbie recently joined us part time assisting in our front office on the weekends. She is currently employed full time as a senior administrator with Plano Animal Services, is responsible for community outreach and serves as the Humane Educator at the shelter along with sitting on the Shelter Advisory Committee. Debbie was also one of the Plano Dog Park founders. She is certified in pet first aid with the Red Cross and serves as a Canine Diagnostician with the Gifted Animal Placement Program in Texas. She has been responsible for placing shelter dogs in working environments with this organization. We were honored to have someone who is so passionate about rehabilitating and saving shelter animals join us. Welcome Debbie!

Debra McHale  PT Daycare Associate

Debra recently joined us to assist our daycare supervisor in keeping order in the playrooms. You may laugh

but we take the safety of our guests very seriously and having supervision in the playrooms decreases the incidence of injury to both dogs and staff. Debra has an extensive corporate administrative background and

is retired but was getting bored being at home all day. She felt that with her love of animals she would be an asset to our daycare and we couldn’t agree more. She has a new Rottweiler puppy that she is training and lives with her husband and their elderly parents. You can see Debra rotating in each of the playrooms, big and small, she loves them all!
