Waggin Tails Daycare Menu

"Wouldn't you love your dog to be as tired as Blaze after a long hard day of play?"

Waggin’ Tails believes that every dog should receive some type of obedience training. Training allows us to better communicate with our companions as well as strengthen our bond with them. It gives us the opportunity to let the dog know what we expect.

Training allows us to visually demonstrate which behaviors are acceptable and which ones are not. Studies confirm that dogs respond visually better than they do verbally. In other words, they take their cues from watching us, not necessarily listening to us, unless of course, you are opening a new bag of potato chips!

Waggin’ Tails uses a balanced approach to training, focusing on positive rewards and results. We incorporate various POSITIVE Reinforcement methodologies of training that encourage your dog to want to learn and please you.

Whether you are just getting started with a new puppy or wanting to work with your adult dog, we have a training program to help you succeed.

Classes

Basic Obedience - $ 115.00 Six Weeks

This class is for inexperienced handlers and untrained dogs and designed to help you raise and train an easy to live with companion. The focus of this class is to teach the handler and the dog to work together as a team. The primary goal is to assist the owner to train their dog to be a better pet using positive motivational methods.

At the end of the 6-weeks, handlers should have gained basic control of their dogs and may continue training in the Intermediate Class upon graduation. All exercises will be done on-lead and will include heel, sit, down, stand, stay, and come. Focus is on practical every day living with your dog.

Handlers will be instructed in how to handle the leash, give commands and praise, and to use food as a lure. Basic manners such as jumping and barking will also be covered. Upon completion, beginners are encourages to continue into the Intermediate class.

Intermediate Obedience - $ 115.00 Six Weeks

The intermediate obedience program reinforces skills learned in basic obedience and takes dogs to the next level of providing distractions including developing social skills around both people and other dogs.

Walking nicely on a leash is mastered outside in a dog park along with addressing specific problem behaviors such as separation anxiety, excessive chewing, barking, marking and other undesirable behavior.

Emphasis is placed on positive rewards and effort is focused on further developing the communication bond with the dog and strengthening the owner/dog relationship.

Must have graduated from basic obedience to attend intermediate.

Clicker Training - $115.00 Six Weeks

Learn how to encourage your dog to perform commands and tricks by use of the clicker. Clicker training relies on positive reinforcement to make it more likely the dog will repeat desired behavior in the future.

Two things make clicker training unique, first its practitioners emphasize the science underlying the method and second, the trainer uses a marker signal, the clicker, to tell the dog when he does what you want. The clicker is like a camera taking a picture of the behavior you are training for.

Clicker training is faster, more efficient and FUN than any other training technique used today. You not only end up with a well behaved dog, it will also strengthen the bond between you and your canine companion.

Basic obedience required.
